On 11 June 2021, CARE International in Lao PDR, in collaboration with the Lao Federation of Trade Unions, held a project closing meeting for Protections and Choice for Marginalized Urban Women Phase II, with the aim of summarizing and reporting on the successes of the three-year project from 2018-2021.
The project has focused on implementing activities with garment factories, with a particular focus on ensuring: Garment factories have effective workplace mechanisms to respond to sexual harassment, partners and garment factory workers are capable and experienced on improving labor protection, and the national regulatory environment for factories is strengthened to promote mechanisms to address sexual harassment in the workplace to ensure that female workers can exercise their rights and be safe in their workplaces.
