Today, CARE International in Lao PDR met with government partners for the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding for the Improved Food Diversity Project Phase III and the Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCH) Project, which CARE will be implementing in 45 villages in DakCheung, Kaleum and Lamam Districts, Sekong Province, with the support of the governments of Luxemburg and Germany.
The Improved Food Diversity Project focuses on diversifying household production, strengthening Women’s Income Generation and Nutrition Groups (WINGs), and capacity development of government partners. The focus of RMNCH is to improve quality maternal and child health services, community knowledge and behavior change, and women’s economic empowerment. This is an exciting opportunity for us to support communities to make the changes they want to see.
