On November 01, 2022, CARE International in Lao PDR met with government partners for the launching and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for the Sustainable Production and Ethic Responsible & Women Empowered Coffee Value Chains Project in Lao PDR (SuPER WE Coffee) Project, which will be implemented in 15 villages in Dakchueng District, Sekong Province, and is funded by the European Union.
This project to support the development of a green, low-carbon, resource-efficient and more circular economy, and contribute to poverty reduction in Lao PDR, and to strengthen collaboration with cooperatives as well as building the capacities of women coffee producers on cooperative principles by integrating gender, leadership and entrepreneurship, and support participation of local producers in national & international networks.
