Gender inequality in Laos is still an important issue that limits opportunities for many groups of people, especially for women and girls in remote ethnic communities. These inequalities result from many factors, including unequal social norms, harmful traditional practices, and lack of understanding about the importance and benefits of gender equality. In order to help advance gender equality work, CARE Laos conducted a workshop to exchange experiences and discuss with partners about gender equality and using the Gender Action Learning System (GALS) tool. We hope this training gave civil society partners the opportunity to learn from each other so that they can better educate communities on gender equality and promote changes in harmful social practices.
